The Class 10 32GB SDHC memory card by Verbatim is a great way to alleviate the issues of running out of space. Not only does it allow one to take more photos while on vacation, but its vast storage also solves the problem of having to keep track of all those extra 2, 4, & 8 GB SD cards floating around in your various backpacks and camera bags. Just pop in one of these spacious bad boys, and you probably won’t be reaching for a spare memory card for the better part of your next vacation (if at all).
Personally, I prefer to have a Class 10 memory card such as this because it eliminates the memory card as a speed bottleneck while shooting. Yes, there are lots of cheaper cards available, but their read/write speeds can be slower than the read/write speeds that your camera is capable of. This means that when you take a picture or video with a less expensive/slower memory card, it will take longer for that image or video to be saved to the card causing you to wait longer before you can take your next shot or video clip (potentially making you miss out on something cool you wanted to capture with your camera). Having a fast memory card such as this is especially important if you do shoot or ever plan to shoot RAW images or 1080p video.
In my testing of the Verbatim 32GB SDHC Class 10 memory card, I found it to be very reliable as well as fast when saving images from my camera. I recently used it in my Nikon P6000 to do some time-lapse photography over a several hour- long period of time, and the card worked flawlessly. I also tested it by copying one of my full feature-length films onto it, and it played back without a single hiccup, blip, or glitch. I further tested the memory card by utilizing a program called “Disk Speed Test” by Black Magic Design, which is a free download from the Mac App Store. I also timed the copy speed myself using a stopwatch. Both tests showed that the overall average read/write speed was around 20MB/s.
If you are planning on investing some of your hard earned dough on a new memory card, then I recommend you avoid the off-brands and get a decent quality brand name Class 10 card with a fast read/write speed such as the Class 10 32GB SDHC by Verbatim.
