Purinize Water Purifier & Sawyer Filter

Be prepared for your next backcountry excursion or any unexpected emergency with the Combo Pocket Size 2 oz. Water Purification Solution from Purinize & the Mini Water Filter System from Sawyer.

The pocket-sized Purinize Water Purification Solution comes in a handy little bottle with a pop-top opening and spout. It can easily fit into any emergency kit, backpack, vehicle glove box, or in a pants/jacket pocket. The 2 oz. bottle can treat approximately 15 gallons (60 liters) of water. Simply add at least 15 drops per liter of water (depending on water quality). The all-natural, non-toxic, and eco-friendly solution consists of 2% concentrated sulfate mineral salts extracted from volcanic formations and 98% purified water.

Product testing has been performed by an independent, EPA-certified laboratory: Envirotek Laboratories. Lab tests can be provided for review upon request. All laboratory tests were conducted with a 0.2 micron filtration system for the removal of precipitates.

Purinize has been found to eliminate or reduce up to 99.95%** of the following pathogens: Giardia Lamblia, Cryptosporidium, Escherichia Coli (E.Coli), Enterobacter Cloacae, Proteus Mirablis, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Klebsiella Terrigena, Poliovirus I, & Rotavirus.

Purinize has also been found to reduce up to 99.95%** of contaminants in the following categories:

· 160 industrial chemicals including volatile organic compounds, Hexavalent Chromium, BPA and, most recently, MCHM.

· 79 pesticides, herbicides, & fungicides including DDT & Atrazine · 36 pharmaceuticals including steroids & antibiotics

· Disinfectants & their byproducts including Chlorine, Chloramines & Trihalomethanes

· Heavy metals including Arsenic, Lead & Mercury

Next up is the Sawyer MINI Water Filter System. This includes a 16 oz reusable squeeze pouch, 7 drinking straw, cleaning plunger (syringe), cleaning and maintenance instructions, and of course the Sawyer MINI Water Filter itself.

I have used a few different styles of water filtration systems over the years. This is by far the most widely adaptable model I have ever used. Not only can you drink directly from a stream, lake, or other fresh water source, but you can also attach this filter directly to most small-mouthed 28 mm thread disposable water bottles. It would have been nice, though, if an adapter had been included to attach the filter to wide-mouthed Nalgene bottles. It does, however, connect inline with most backpack water bladders such as Camelback, Teton Sports, High Sierra, Platypus, Osprey, and Hydrapak – meaning, the filter attaches between your pre-existing water bladder and drinking hose. I personally found this capability to be extremely useful since I enjoy using such water bladder backpacks frequently while enjoying the great outdoors.

Now, I can refill the water bladder from a stream while backpacking without having to hand pump filter it first! I can just submerge the bladder in the stream to fill it up, start drinking and the filter purifies the water as I drink. It is quite ingenious I must say. If the water looks exceptionally questionable then just add the appropriate amount of the Purinize Water Purification Solution and you should then have some seriously safe drinking water. It’s better to be safe than sorry I always say.

The MINI Sawyer water filter removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera and E.coli; removes 99.9999% of all protozoa, such as giardia and cryptosporidium. This filter weighs in at 2 ounces (great for backpacking) and can filter up to 100,000 gallons.

If you are looking for a highly effective way to quickly and easily filter questionable water while out in the back country, then the Pocket Size 2 oz. Water Purification Solution from Purinize & the Mini Water Filter System from Sawyer are definitely great options and I would highly recommend taking a very close look at.
