The Eco Drive Proximity combines high tech and high class. Its multi dial, translucent analog watch face is a very interesting mix of both very futuristic and retro stylings. The Proximity isn’t just a pretty face (much pun intended). Its case, bezel, back, lugs, crown, and back are all made from fairly thick stainless steel. It also has a very durable mineral crystal (glass) face. You won’t need to ever worry about replacing batteries in this watch since it has its own solar panel built into the dial that recharges its internal battery from any light source.
The biggest feature of the Proximity is the ability for it to link to your iPhone via Bluetooth 4.0. This allows you to receive notifications on the watch such as incoming calls, text messages, email, reminders, and alerts. All you need to do is download the free app and link the watch to your iPhone. The interface is a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it’s no big deal. The Eco Drive Proximity from Citizen is definitely a watch that’s built to last. I definitely recommend it if you want to have a Bluetooth watch but don’t want to sacrifice durability and waterproofness, and especially if you don’t like the idea of a bright distracting screen on your wrist that keeps flashing all the time.
